Lara Gut, the reigning World Cup overall champion, fell in warm-up at the world alpine skiing championships before the slalom run of the super combined and was airlifted to a hospital, missing the race in St. Moritz, Switzerland.
The Swiss Gut is believed to have a left knee injury. Her status for Sunday’s downhill is unknown.
Gut came into worlds as a medal threat in a few races. She was the clear favorite in the opening super-G on Tuesday but came away with a disappointing bronze medal.
She was third in the downhill portion of the super combined on Friday.
