Katie Ledecky makes Stanford debut

Katie Ledecky won one of her two individual events in her Stanford debut, a sold-out dual meet at Oregon State on Friday.

Ledecky clocked 50.10 seconds to win the 100-yard freestyle after anchoring a 200-yard medley relay team to victory, swimming her leg after Olympic 100m freestyle champion Simone Manuel. Full meet results are here.

Manuel did not contest the 100-yard free against Ledecky. Ledecky’s personal best in the 100-yard freestyle is 48.28 seconds from 2015.

Ledecky’s previous 10 times in the 100-yard free — from 2013 through 2015 — were all faster than her time Friday, but she is two months separated from the Olympics, swam it among four races in one session and still won by .
