Two-time Olympic gymnastics medalist Jonathan Horton couldn’t conquer the “American Ninja Warrior” Houston City Finals course, splashing out on a “walking bar” obstacle.
He finished in 16th place, just missing the top 15 needed to advance to the season finals in Las Vegas.
Horton, who is trying to become the first three-time U.S. Olympic men’s gymnast since Blaine Wilson in 2004, saw his run end when he failed to successfully move horizontally while holding a bar, jumping from staggered shelf to staggered shelf while suspended high above water.
Horton impressively scaled the warped wall, which is about three times his 5-foot, 1-inch height, just as he did at his qualifier that aired June 7.
