John Oliver uses his show, “Last Week Tonight,” to target issues in sports occasionally, and it’s usually very good when he does.
Sure we can quibble with the finer points of some of his arguments, but his mocking of the Yankees was hilarious, while his ruthless takedowns of the NCAA, FIFA and the Washington Redskins were all masterful. So it was pleasant surprise to see Oliver take on Olympic doping in his most recent episode on Sunday night. The segment is 20 minutes long (you can watch it above), but he summarizes his main point succinctly towards the end of the clip:
