Miracle on Ice goalie Jim Craig didn’t auction his “Miracle on Ice” lot of 19 items for $5.7 million, as he planned to do last year, so he broke up the items in a new auction that runs from Tuesday through June 17.
The Olympic gold medal, which Craig wanted to sell for $1.5 million as part of the $5.7 million auction last year, had an opening bid of $100,000.
The lot information is available here.
“For the past 35 years, these items have been at the Hockey Hall of Fame, the Boston Sports Museum, the New York Sports Museum, and I think we’ve done a good job showing them because this moment was so big that I truly believe everyone was a part of it,” Craig said in 2015, according to ESPN.
