Jenn Suhr headlines U.S. Olympic women’s pole vault team

2012 Olympic gold medalist Jenn Suhr secured her ticket to Rio on the women’s pole vault team at the U.S. Track and Field Trials on Sunday.

Suhr topped the standings at the Trials with a 4.8-meter vault, Sandi Morris came in second at 4.75 meters, and Alexis Weeks (4.70) rounded out the top three; Suhr’s American record of 4.92 meters from July 2008 still stands.

The women’s pole vault could be one of the most exciting track and field events in Rio with a deep international field that includes decorated Brazilian and 2011 world champion Fabiana Murer.
