J’den Cox eyes football after Olympic wrestling medal

J’den Cox, the rising University of Missouri senior wrestler who earned an Olympic bronze medal in Rio, wants to play football in his final year of NCAA eligibility in 2017.

“So, the rules here is that you can play a sport for four years, and then your fifth year, you can go and play another one, especially for me, I haven’t redshirted,” Cox said Wednesday night. “The new plan is to play football for the University of Missouri after I get done with wrestling here for a year.”

Cox, 21, was an all-state linebacker in high school.
