LAUSANNE — The International Olympic Committee unanimously approved a plan to award the 2024 and 2028 Olympics, creating a path by which Los Angeles and Paris could both secure the Games.
That, though, will depend on the two bid cities and the IOC reaching an agreement for Los Angeles and Paris to both host an Olympics. Effectively, that would leave the IOC to ratify any such deal when it meets in Lima on Sept. 13.
If they cannot reach an agreement, the IOC’s vote would be to select one city for 2024.
