U.S. Olympic champions Aaron Peirsol and Dara Torres and coach Bob Bowman are among the International Swimming Hall of Fame Class of 2016.
The group also includes Olympic diving champions Dmitry Sautin of Russia and Guo Jingjing of China.
The backstroker Peirsol won seven Olympic medals, including five golds, sweeping the 100m and 200m backstrokes at the Athens 2004 Olympics and capturing the 100m back at Beijing 2008. He finished his competitive swimming career in 2010 at age 27.
Torres shared the record for U.S. Olympic medals won by a woman with 12, competing over five Games from 1984 to 2008, with two retirements scattered in.
