NBC’s San Diego affiliate recently went inside U.S. Olympic race walker John Nunn‘s other business — Ella’s Cookie Co.

Nunn, who qualified for his third Olympic team on Feb. 21, started the baking endeavor with daughter Ella in between his first and second Olympics in 2004 and 2012.

The business was born out of a hard time in Nunn’s life.

He was going through a divorce while failing to make the 2008 Olympic team and “busied himself in the kitchen” with then-3-year-old Ella, according to the Los Angeles Times.
