Australia’s Marcus Fraser followed up his first round 63 with a second round 69, and still leads the chase for gold at 10-under after two rounds of the Rio Olympics.
Belgium’s Thomas Pieters is a stroke back, and Henrik Stenson is two back at 8-under. Six other golfers are within five strokes of the lead.
Matt Kuchar has made a little headway for the United States, which is struggling on the Olympic Golf Course. Kuchar shot 70 and is 3-under, tied for 14th.
Watson shot 67, making up for his 73 in the first round. He’s tied for 18th, one stroke ahead of Patrick Reed’s 1-under.
