As pockets of the internet seemed to unfairly turn on gymnast Gabby Douglas, her teammates had some pretty sound advice for her, Aly Raisman told E! earlier this week.
“‘We all just tried to cheer her up, and I tried to tell her you can’t be on the Internet and Google yourself,” Raisman told E! News while discussing her partnership with Bridgestone. “I’m sure any persona that’s ever done an interview, if you Google yourself you obviously see negative things about yourself, but we tried to tell her to stay positive and be there for her.”
Douglas was criticized for ridiculous things like not putting her hand over her heart during the national anthem and appearing to be not supportive of her teammates during their routines because of a few facial expressions caught on TV.
