Tadej Pogacar edged Primoz Roglic in the Tour de France’s 15th stage for a Slovenian one-two, while defending champion Egan Bernal dropped out of the 10 in the overall standings.
Bernal’s plummet, finishing more than seven minutes behind, effectively ends Ineos Grenadiers’ bid for a sixth straight Tour de France title going back to its days as Team Sky with Chris Froome.
Roglic, a former junior world champion ski jumper, kept his overall lead. Pogacar, his closest pursuer, cut the deficit from 44 seconds to 40 seconds thanks to a time bonus.
