The 2028 Los Angeles Olympics will feature men's and women's flag football for the first time ever.
On Monday, the NFL released a video featuring Philadelphia Eagles star quarterback Jalen Hurts at the Los Angeles Memorial Colosseum—throwing a flaming football to light the Olympic torch—to make the announcement:
Hurts will serve as flag football's global ambassador.
"As we celebrate the successes of Paris 2024 and the ball is thrown to LA28, we have no doubt flag football is going to light up the Games when it makes its debut in four years' time," IFAF President, Pierre Trochet, said in a statement.
