Dorothy Hamill, the 1976 Olympic figure skating champion, visited “Today” and reminisced about her gold medal at age 19 on Wednesday.
“It was such a different time,” she said. “I knew nothing other than skating, and then all of a sudden living in a fish bowl and Ice Capades. I had never given a press conference. It’s just a whole different world. I can’t believe it. It was like another lifetime.”
Hamill said she keeps her gold medal in a safe in her house.
