The International Skating Union announced on Friday that the third Grand Prix stop of the upcoming Olympic figure skating season will be held in Torino, Italy, replacing the longstanding Cup of China.
The Chinese figure skating association canceled the event, which would have been held in Chongqing, earlier this month due to the pandemic, specifically noting the limited number of inbound international flights to China.
After receiving applications from Debrecen, Hungary; Norwood, Massachusetts; and Torino, the ISU chose the 2006 Olympic host city to hold the first-ever Grand Prix of Italy. The competition will remain on the same dates as initially planned, Nov.
