David Boudia wants to make a fourth Olympic diving team, and hopefully add to his collection of four medals in Tokyo.
The 28-year-old announced in a press conference Tuesday that he will return after taking the 2017 competition season off. He’s been training since June with an eye on a run for the 2020 Games.
“I needed that mental break,” Boudia said. “I look back on the last four years leading up to Rio, and I saw a lot of missed opportunities where I could have been a better mentor to my teammates, been more loving to the people that were coming up to me.
