David Boudia is going to his third straight Olympics with his third different synchronized platform partner.
Boudia, the reigning individual Olympic platform champion, and Steele Johnson completed their rout of the U.S. Olympic Trials in Indianapolis on Thursday night, prevailing easily after accumulating prelims, semis and finals scores.
Boudia, 27, became the first U.S. man to make three Olympic teams on the platform since Greg Louganis.
In 2008, Boudia finished fifth in synchro platform with Thomas Finchum and 10th individually. In 2012, Boudia became the first U.S. Olympic men’s platform champion since Louganis and also earned synchro bronze with Nick McCrory.
