Connor Jaeger, Abbey Weitzeil end Olympic Swim Trials with wins

Connor Jaeger won his second event of the Olympic Swimming Trials and made his second Olympic team in the 1500m, capping the eight-day meet in Omaha on Sunday.

Jaeger, the world 1500m silver medalist, clocked 14:47.61, winning by XX over Jordan Wilimovsky, who became the first American to make an Olympic team in the pool and the open water.

Earlier in the women’s 50m freestyle, Abbey Weitzeil and Simone Manuel went one-two, just as they did in the 100m freestyle. Weitzeil prevailed in 24.28 seconds, followed by Manuel in 28.
