PARIS (AP) — American phenom Coco Gauff was eliminated from her first French Open main draw in the second round, double faulting 19 times against 159th-ranked Italian Martina Trevisan.
Trevisan dispatched Gauff, at 16 the youngest player in the field, 4-6, 6-2, 7-5. Gauff’s serving woes went right through the last game, when she double faulted on consecutive points.
Trevisan next gets Greek 20th seed Maria Sakkari.

Earlier, Defending champion Rafael Nadal reached the third round by beating American player Mackenzie McDonald 6-1, 6-0, 6-3.
