Chloe Kim would have qualified for the Olympics four years ago, but she was too young. Now age-eligible, she clinched a spot in PyeongChang by winning the first two U.S. qualifiers.
Kim, the first person born in the 2000s to qualify for a U.S. Winter Olympic team, scored 93 points in her opening run in Breckenridge, Colo., on Friday. It held up over three rounds.
“I’m pretty sure I like tweaked my hip doing that [first run], but I think it was worth it,” the 17-year-old told Tina Dixon in the finish area.
