Chloe Kim laughed off a scary crash at the Burton U.S. Open on Thursday, landing on the edge of the halfpipe and banging her face on the lip.
Kim, 15 and the two-time reigning Winter X Games champion, still qualified first into the final with a 94.25.
She’ll face off with 2002 Olympic champion Kelly Clark, 2006 Olympic halfpipe champion Hannah Teter and 2014 Olympian Arielle Gold, among others, on Saturday in Vail, Colo.
Kim is having a strong season, having won the Winter X Games, Youth Olympics and scoring what’s believed to be the second perfect 100 in competition at the U.
