Canadian snowboarder Mark McMorris finished a stunning comeback on the podium in Pyeongchang.
Last year, he hit a tree during a run and had a horrific amount of injuries. From USA TODAY Sports:
Once McMorris arrived at a hospital, the extent of the injuries was clear - 17 broken bones, collapsed lung and ruptured spleen. Doctors put him in a medically induced coma, and McMorris had surgeries on his jaw, arm, lung and spleen.
Given the nature of his injuries, he recovered quickly. McMorris, 24, said he was expected to be hospitalized for a month but left after 12 days.
