Two-time reigning Olympic champion Canada won its first World Hockey Championship since 2007 by beating Russia 6-1 in the gold-medal game in Prague, Czech Republic, on Sunday.
Cody Eakin, Tyler Ennis, Sidney Crosby, Tyler Seguin, Claude Giroux and Nathan MacKinnon scored Canada’s goals.
Canada, captained by Crosby, went 10-0 at the World Championship, outscoring its opponents by a combined 51-goal margin. Crosby, who tallied a point in all 10 games, earned his first Worlds gold medal, becoming the 26th player to win Olympic and Worlds golds and a Stanley Cup.
