LAS VEGAS — Jordan Burroughs, the reigning Olympic wrestling champion at 74 kilograms, is now a gold medal winner at the world championships for the third time.
The 27-year-old New Jersey native claimed his latest world title in impressive fashion, downing Mongolia's Unurbat Purevjav by technical fall in the final match of the United World Wrestling Championships in Las Vegas.
Burroughs went 6-0 at the tournament, outscoring his opponents 45-5 en route to claiming the medal, which he suggested may be his most impressive to date, as he's battled increasing commitments off the mat as one of the sport's absolute best athletes.
