RIO DE JANEIRO – Everywhere Brazilian basketball legend Oscar Schmidt walks at these Olympics, people want a picture. And not just fans, but NBA All-Stars, too.
After the U.S. men’s basketball team finished practice on Tuesday, Klay Thompson rushed out of the gym to catch up with Schmidt and take a photo.
“He’s a great icon for basketball,” Thompson said. “I look up to him. He’s a great shooter and a great player.”
Scorers recognize scorers, and that’s one reason the Hall of Famer (class of 2013) made sure to say hello to Thompson, Kyrie Irving, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant at a U.
