Kerri Walsh Jennings is headed to her fifth Olympics — this time with a new partner.
The three-time beach volleyball gold medalist was named to the U.S. Olympic team by USA Volleyball on Sunday. The move was a formality — players qualify for the Olympics by accumulating points on the international FIVB tour list, and Walsh Jennings and partner April Ross were comfortably in third when the two-year qualification period ended Sunday.
Walsh Jennings also played for the U.S. indoor team in Sydney in 2000.
Ross won silver in London in 2012, losing to Walsh Jennings and Misty May-Treanor in the gold medal match.
