RIO DE JANEIRO — Aly Raisman is the reigning Olympic champion on floor exercise, and has another gold medal as part of the Fierce Five.
She, not Simone Biles, was the only woman to finish in the top three on three events at last month’s Olympic trials.
By earning spots on the Rio squad, she and Gabby Douglas became the first U.S. women since 2000 to make a second Olympic team.
All that, and Raisman’s greatest value may come off the floor.
