Anna Chicherova, the 2012 Olympic high jump champion provisionally banned for a recent positive 2008 doping retest, is not among the 68 athletes Russian officials are appealing on behalf of to be reinstated for the Rio Games.
Russian Olympic Committee legal head Alexandra Brilliantova said Chicherova was automatically excluded from the list after it was announced Friday she was provisionally banned.
The Russian athletes’ appeal will be heard July 19 by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, with a decision by July 21,
