Anderson Varejao is among five NBA players on the Brazil roster seeking the nation’s first Olympic men’s basketball medal since 1964.
Varejao, a Golden State Warriors big man, is joined by fellow 2012 Olympians and NBA players Leandro Barbosa, Marcelo Huertas, Nenê and Raul Neto.
The team is without Atlanta Hawks big man Tiago Splitter, who underwent season-ending hip surgery in February.
Brazil lost in the 2012 Olympic quarterfinals after not qualifying for the Games in 2000, 2004 and 2008.
