BEIJING – Elana Meyers Taylor, the decorated American bobsledder who has medaled in the past three Olympics, said Tuesday she tested positive for COVID-19 after arriving on Jan. 29 and is currently at an isolation hotel in Beijing.
“This is just the latest obstacle that my family and I have faced on this journey, so I’m remaining optimistic that I’ll be able to recover quickly and still have the opportunity to compete,” she said in a post on Instagram.
Meyers Taylor, who is vaccinated and said she is asymptomatic, will need to have two negative PCR tests 24 hours apart in order to be cleared from isolation.
