Aliya Mustafina was included on an expanded roster over the weekend from which the Russian team for the World Gymnastics Championships will be chosen, a turnaround after she and a Russian coach said she would miss the meet due to injury, according to Russian reports.
Russia’s gymnastics federation website published the expanded roster of 10 women here. No more than six women can compete per nation at the World Championships in Glasgow, Scotland, the last week of October.
On Friday, before the expanded roster announcement, Mustafina said she would skip the World Championships, primarily because of a back injury, according to Russian media.
