Olympic figure skating champion Adelina Sotnikova is set to compete for the second time since her upset win in Sochi at a small event in Russia next month, according to reports quoting her coach.
Sotnikova, 19, competed once last fall, also in a small Russian event, before ending her season early due to an ankle injury.
Her 2015-16 season debut is set in Samara, Russia, from Sept. 17-21, according to Russian media.
Sotnikova was the only skater on the eight-woman Russian national team who was not given an assignment in the elite-level Grand Prix series, which starts with Skate America in Milwaukee from Oct.
