The track cycling races and mountain bike competitions for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics have been moved to the Japan Cycle Sport Center in Izu, about 75 miles from the capital, the International Olympic Committee said.
The I.O.C.’s executive board signed off on the locations, saying it was “placing a focus on cost effectiveness, sustainability and legacy” and saving about $100 million in the process. Athletes in the track cycling and mountain bike competitions will stay at a satellite Olympic Village in Izu.
