Wurzel Named Big East Defensive Player of the Week

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Graduate goalkeeper Haleigh Wurzel was named Big East Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the league Tuesday morning.

The Pennsylvania native notched 23 saves en route to the Monarchs two-win weekend. She faced 62 shots and held off ECU and Longwood to single digits goals for the first time this season. Wurzel also recorded one caused turnover and three groundballs.

Junior Glory Johnson was also named to the Big East Weekly Honor Roll after leading the league in goals last week.
