RALEIGH, N.C. – The Old Dominion women's tennis team (2-4) fell to No. 12 NC State (4-1) by a 6-1 score on Friday afternoon at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center. ODU's Yulia Starodubtseva picked up a nationally ranked singles win over No. 23 Alana Smith 6-4, 4-6, 7-5.
"This was a tough match for us," said ODU head coach Dominic Manilla. "Four of the matches went to a third set and we didn't get three of them. The first half of our schedule has been tough, all Power 5 schools and heavy on the ACC, so I think we have learned a lot about ourselves.
