HOUSTON -- The Old Dominion women's basketball team had its seven-game winning streak snapped by league leader Rice, 48-42, on Saturday afternoon at Tudor Fieldhouse.
Old Dominion (16-6, 7-3) held a 21-17 lead at the half, but Rice (18-3, 9-0) outscored the Monarchs, 31-21, in the second half, including a 7-0 run in the fourth quarter that proved to be the difference.
Victoria Morris led all scorers with 20 points.
It was a defensive battle between the two teams, who both entered the game as two of the hottest teams in the conference.
