FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Old Dominion women's golf team fired a 282 (-6) at the Verandah Club in the opening round of the C-USA Championship to sit atop the leaderboard with UTSA. Senior Sana Tufail is also tied for the lead individually after posting a (-3) 69 on Monday afternoon.
Posting their best 18-hole score since the Moon Golf Invitational, three Monarchs posted below par scores in Tufail, Charlotte De Corte and Leah Onosato. Tufail opened her round with eight straight pars before earning a birdie on the ninth to make the turn one-under. On the back nine, the Abu Dhabi native posted one bogey, one birdie and an eagle to close the opening round as one of the clubhouse leaders.
