ATLANTA, Ga. - Old Dominion University football coach Bobby Wilder was named the Dodd Trophy Coach of the Week, officials from the Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Foundation and Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl announced on Tuesday.
The Dodd Trophy Coach of the Week award honors the football coach whose program embodies the award’s three pillars of scholarship, leadership and integrity, while also having success on the playing field during the previous week.
Wilder and the Monarchs defeated No. 13/10 Virginia Tech 49-35 on Saturday. ODU trailed by one score most of the day, until a Jeremy Cox 15-yard touchdown run put the Monarchs ahead for the first time at 35-28.
