NORFOLK — John Wilson drew a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the ninth inning Tuesday, giving Old Dominion a 6-5 walk-off win over Virginia Commonwealth at the Bud Metheny Complex.
The Monarchs trailed 5-4 entering the inning and loaded the bases before Cory Alexander II scored on a passed ball.
Will Morgan and Tommy Bell homered during ODU’s four-run sixth inning. Morgan led off with a solo home run and Bell hit a three-run shot to tie the game.
The Rams pulled ahead on Logan Amiss’s RBI single in the seventh.
The Monarchs used seven pitchers, with Nansemond River High grad Michael Blanchard (1-0) earning the win in relief.
