Collin Fleischer hit two homers and drove in three runs as Virginia Military Institute outlasted Old Dominion 7-6 in a nonconference game Wednesday night at Gray-Minor Stadium.
It was the fourth straight defeat for the Monarchs, who dropped to 12-30.
Culver Lamb (Tallwood) paced ODU with two homers of his own to give him six on the season and finished 2 for 3 with four RBIs and two runs. Jimbo Reemsnyder went 2 for 4 with an RBI .
VMI scored three runs each in the first and fifth innings. Fleischer’s two-run shot sparked the first-inning outburst.
