PITTSBURGH — Old Dominion's Michael McGee, Sa’Derian Perry and Larry Early each won their opening matches at the NCAA wrestling championships on Thursday.
McGee, seeded 12th at 125 pounds, recorded a technical fall over No. 21 Jay Schwarm of Northern Iowa, winning 18-3.
Perry, seeded 19th at 141 pounds, defeated No. 14 Jamel Morris of North Carolina State 5-1.
Early, seeded seventh at 157 pounds, posted a 10-0 major decision over No. 26 Quincy Monday of Princeton.
Second-round matches were held Thursday night.
