NORFOLK, Va. – Former Old Dominion University women's golfer and Conference USA Player of the Year Maggie Simmermacher was one of 60 athletes to qualify for the women's golf competition at the upcoming Tokyo Olympics. Simmermacher will be competing in the Olympics for the first time and joins a long list of Monarchs who have featured in the Olympic Games.
Simmermacher was named the 2018 C-USA Player of the Year as a senior and was a two-time all-conference first teamer for the Monarchs. She placed second at the C-USA Championship in 2017, helping guide ODU to its first-ever conference title, and was the conference's freshman of the year in 2015.
