MIAMI, Fla. – The Old Dominion women’s soccer team (7-11-0, 5-5-0 C-USA) punched its ticket to the 2016 Conference USA Tournament after beating FIU (3-11-3, 2-6-2, C-USA) in the regular season finale by a 1-0 score on Sunday afternoon. The shutout was the second in three days for the Lady Monarchs.
Sunday’s match was originally scheduled for October 9th, but was wiped out due to Hurricane Matthew.
The Lady Monarchs got on the scoreboard first in the 39th minute, when they capitalized off a failed FIU clearance to take a 1-0 lead on an own goal.
