Mike Nyisztor hit a two-run single as part of a five-run eighth inning, and Rutgers pulled away Saturday for a 9-6 win over Old Dominion in a nonconference baseball game at the Bud Metheny Complex.
Brian Morley and Greenbrier Christian grad Erik Stock hit their first career home runs for the Monarchs (3-7), who led 5-4 entering the inning and managed just a sacrifice fly by Matt Schwarz in the bottom half.
Stock hit a two-run homer in the sixth after the Scarlet Knights (5-4) rallied and took a 4-3 lead on a wild pitch in the top of the inning.
