NORFOLK — Evan Kravetz pitched eight innings of three-hit ball Saturday as Rice completed a series sweep of Old Dominion with an 11-2 win in Game 2 of a Conference USA baseball doubleheader at the Bud Metheny Complex.
The Monarchs dropped their sixth straight in C-USA play and third straight league series.
Kravetz struck out eight and was backed by a five-run third inning.
In the opener, a grand slam by Dominic Cox made the difference in a 14-10 slugfest.
Bryce Windham led off with an inside-the-park home run, and Ryan Teschko and Andy Garriola also homered for ODU.
