Maury’s Destiny Hooks and Churchland’s Ameya Williams are among five athletes who will join the Norfolk State women’s track and field team for the 2019-20 season.
Hooks was an indoor and outdoor 5A state meet qualifier in the pole vault and also ran sprint events for Maury.
Williams won an outdoor state title in the shot put and was a state qualifier in the discus for Churchland.
The other recruits were middle distance runner Kara Grant of Kingston, Jamaica, sprinter and jumper De’Niya Gravely of Martinsville and hurdler/sprinter Indya Richards of Rochester, N.
