Karl Craigie pitched a complete game and Matt Hilston’s RBI triple in the third inning was all the offense Texas-San Antonio needed against Old Dominion 3-0 on Saturday in a Conference USA baseball game at Bud Metheny Complex.
The loss ended a five-game winning streak for the Monarchs (24-11, 7-7).
Craigie (3-0) scattered six hits and struck out five with one walk. Tyler Straub’s two-run double in the ninth capped the scoring for UTSA (13-21, 4-10).
Connor Myers and Jason McMurray each had two hits for the Monarchs.
With ODU having won the first game of the series Friday, the rubber game is set for noon today.
