Connor Myers had five hits and three RBIs and Justin Hayes and four hits as Old Dominion opened the Conference USA baseball season Friday with a sweep of Western Kentucky at Bud Metheny Complex.
The Monarchs won 8-3 and 4-2.
Right-hander Sam Sinnen (Kellam) earned the win for ODU (15-4, 2-0) in the opener, pitching five innings with six strikeouts.
Grayson Bailey pitched an inning of hitless relief to earn the win in the nightcap.
The teams conclude their three-game series with a single game at noon today.
