Kenan Carter pinned Elijah Murphy in 4:38 at 149 pounds Sunday, and the Old Dominion wrestlers wrapped up a 27-10 nonconference win over American University at the Constant Center.
The Monarchs (7-5) won their third straight match following wins at Buffalo and against Chattanooga at the Virginia Duals.
Larry Early (157 pounds) followed Carter with a major decision over Eric Hong as ODU closed the match with three straight wins.
The Monarchs opened with victories by Luke Drugac (165), Oscar Smith grad Seldon Wright (174) and Antonio Agee (184). Michael McGee (125) and 17th-ranked Alex Madrigal also won.
